Northern lights

At Lindartún you can expect to see the northern lights during the winter time. It is amazing to be standing outdoors in the countryside and witness these dancing lights above you. Of course there is no guarantee for the northern lights but here is the site for the aurora forecast. forecasts/aurora/

South Coast
of Iceland

The South Coast of Iceland is a popular visit for both tourists and locals. It boasts a great number of geological wonders and beautiful volcanos, among them the famous Eyjafjallajökull who erupted in 2010. This caused enormous disruption to air travel across western and northern Europe over an initial period of six days in April 2010.

Location

Lindartún is located near the town Hvolsvöllur on road 255, about 10 minute drive from this small town. The south of Iceland has several towns and villages and the population of Hvolsvöllur is about 900. However you will find at Hvolsvöllur a grocery store, a bank, a post office, a tourist information center, restaurants, shops, a pharmacy, a healthcare center and a swimming pool.
